Slinky science and four other finds
Five Finds is a monthly collection of five inspiring things we deemed worthy of sharing. If you’d like inspiration in your inbox each month sign up here.
If you think they are too, share the link to subscribe in your social network or forward it to a friend.
Patatap
Tap your way into the new year with Patatap, an animation and sound kit created by Jonathan Brandel. Use your keyboard or download the app to compose beats and melodies combined with an explosion of shapes and colours.
A rival
We’ve all heard of that other electronic car company based in the US but Arrival, a UK start-up is aiming to disrupt the van market with an electric alternative. They’ve even created some (very cute looking) prototypes for Royal Mail.
Slinky science
If you drop a Slinky hanging by it’s own weight, it looks like it defies gravity! The bottom won’t start falling until the whole Slinky has collapsed.
Emoji to Scale
Inspired by this joke, developer Javier Bórquez has created a webpage to readdress the balance and show common emojis to scale.
Winter music
Nothing suits winter like the sound of Fleet Foxes. They couldn’t tour their latest album so frontman Robin Pecknold recorded a solo performance in a church in Brooklyn, New York. It’s available to stream now.
