Sister Rosetta Tharpe was an American singer, songwriter and guitarist who was among the first popular recording artists to use heavy distortion on her electric guitar. She lead the rise of electric blues and influenced everyone from Little Richard to Elvis.

Celebrating difference

Many music videos pass by unnoticed these days but this one made us stop and think. Director Autumn de Wilde developed a simple story for The Decemberists song Once in my Life, a depiction of her brother Jacob, who has lived with physical and intellectual differences his entire life.
