Racing hearts and four other finds
Five Finds is a monthly collection of five inspiring things we deemed worthy of sharing. If you’d like inspiration in your inbox each month sign up here.
This month’s finds tap into the Olympic fever in the studio. So much amazing sport! From a design point of view, it’s a feast for the senses too. Everyone knows the iconic Olympic rings but what about the other elements that make up the visual language of the Games? We take a deep (9.2) dive into the look of Paris 2024.
Back in the studio we continue the Paris-inspired theme with a look back at our work for Rico Coco, a traditional rotisserie brand with a modern French twist.

The Parisian type
Elliott Amblard and Julie Soudanne created the custom typeface for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Its unique forms are inspired by the Art Deco movement – a tribute to the last Olympic Games held in Paris in 1924.

Capturing culture
Each host city wants to sell itself to the world when hosting the Games. In 1968, Mexico City introduced the concept of the ‘look of the Games’ through their iconic, innovative designs rooted in Mexican culture – with a pinch of hippy psychedelia.
Victory travels
If you’ve caught any of the medal ceremonies this year you might have noticed the exquisite cases in the background. With a heritage of luggage design for French sport, Louis Vuitton has made the Torch and Medals Trunks for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Racing hearts
If you’ve watched any coverage on the iPlayer you’ll have seen the stunning, short film set to Hymne A L'Amour by Edith Piaf. Nexus Studios working with the BBC's in-house creative agency, have created the film inspired by the city of love and a love for sport.
Games — Deluxe
A slightly tenuous link to all the sport but I really wanted to share this track by Dojo Cuts. For its 5th anniversary, they have revisited their album Tomorrow’s Gonna Come and given it a make-over. The trumpet intro added to their Track ‘Games’ is excellent.

French Fare
A traditional rotisserie brand with a modern French twist
Whilst we’re talking all things Parisian, we’ve taken a look back at our visual identity for Rico Coco, a French style rotisserie chicken joint. Fonts inspired by Paris signage, patterns that riff on Parisian café chairs and border decoration taken from menu boards and brasserie signs. It’s all topped of with a poppy orange and off-white colour palette inspired by the iconic French tabac. It’s all fresh, fun, and French at heart. Just like the food.
